Welcome to Emerging Leaders!
A Personal Leadership Development Program for All UNDERGRADUATE students at Pitt.
During your years at Pitt, you will experience amazing growth both intellectually and personally. The Emerging Leaders Program has been designed to complement your classroom and student life experiences by focusing on the behaviors that strengthen your personal effectiveness and leadership development.
Emerging Leaders introduces participants to four fundamental of leadership; self-knowledge, valuing others, personal accountability and integrity. Learners explore these topics while building skills in group dynamics, conflict management, power and influence, diversity, ethics and life-work planning. This 10-week program provides learners with opportunities to:
- Explore and assess your leadership skills and style
- Practice and experiment with new leadership behavior
- Receive feedback on your style and behavior
- Plan for your on-going leadership development
Program Components:
- Offered as a non-credit 10-session program
- Offered on both Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00-8:00pm to increase the likelihood that it will be compatible with most schedules
- Begins Wednesday, September 17 and Thursday, September 18 and ends Sunday, November 16, 2008
- Meets as an entire group and as small sections thus giving students the opportunity for small group interaction and participation as members of the entire program.

- Leadership in Action Program- An exciting service leadership program for graduates of the Emerging Leaders program. This program will pair teams of students with community agencies to help them reach a goal. Students will develop their leadership skills while having fun with fellow students leaders and the community. For more information contact Summer Rothrock at sls77@pitt.edu.
